Welcome, Parents!

We are happy to share with you information regarding Children’s Ministry here at First Cumberland. Exciting opportunities await your child, as they are encouraged to grow in their relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Your infant through fifth grader will be nourished as well as nurtured! We want you to feel a part of this ministry because we are supporting what you, as parents, are teaching your child at home. If you have any questions about this ministry, please contact us.

Nursery: We are pleased to welcome you and your family to our nursery. It is our goal to provide a safe and secure environment for your child. We have a paid nursery worker who is there every Sunday to ensure that your child sees a familiar face. Our paid worker will always have another church member volunteering in the nursery. We do have a beeper system in place if the need to call you arises. We welcome any concerns or questions you may have about our nursery. We hope your children will look forward to coming to God’s house again and again…

King's Kids: King’s Kids begins at 9:30 with refreshments and fun in the hallway of the children’s wing. In King’s Kids the children begin with singing (led by our Director of Music) followed by a Bible story, memory verse and a Bible point. The children then break into smaller groups to explore the story, verse and point further in an age appropriate way. King’s Kids also includes puppets, drama, media demonstrations, and a weekly challenge that encourages the kids to live out what they have learned. Don’t let your child miss out on this important part of being in a church family!

New Member Class [3rd-5th grade] [Fall Only]: This class is offered when children enter 3rd grade to introduce them to our denomination, our church history and all aspects of adult worship.

Children’s Church [September – May]: After a brief time with their families in our worship service our Senior Minister dismisses the children 2 years old through 2nd grade to a time of creative learning as they are introduced to many elements of worship.

*Please Note: During the summer months we worship together as families and the children are provided with their own children’s bulletins. Childcare is provided for kids 2-5 years old.

Cumberland Kids Wednesday Nights [September- December]: Led by our Director of Music Ministries, Jeff Roueche’, Cumberland Kids is committed to fostering excellent musicianship, knowledgeable participation in the church service, and an active prayer life. These will include ongoing music education, ear training, and singing; fundamentals of liturgy and involvement in the prayer life of the church and community. *For more information regarding Cumberland Kids, please refer to the children’s choir brochure

Vacation Bible School: VBS is offered for one week in the summer and each year we have a new, exciting theme. VBS is a ministry to our church family and our community. Skits, Bible stories, missions, music, and games fill up the mornings as kids get fired up about Jesus!

Day Players Summer Camp [Monday – Friday, 10 weeks in summer]: The Day Players is a ministry that provides a fun, loving, and well supervised Christian atmosphere for children age 6 through 15 who need support and care during the summer.
