God has established and blessed marriage for the welfare and happiness of mankind. Our Savior declared that in marriage a man and woman shall bind themselves together as one in love and purpose. By his apostles, he has instructed those who enter into this relationship to cherish a mutual esteem and love, to bear with each other's infirmities, to provide for each other in material things, and to pray for and encourage each other in all things which pertain to God.

The wedding covenant is made in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, the marriage ceremony conducted in First Cumberland Presbyterian Church will reflect those principles and will conform in content and in personal conduct to the normal standards of a Sunday morning worship service. Every part of the ceremony, including the music, should be planned and conducted with the worshipful nature of the event in mind.

The Sanctuary seats approximately 1050 guests. The Johnson Chapel holds 100 guests. The Fellowship Hall can accommodate 150 guests for receptions.
